Kommunart was set up in 2003 by Helen Tyrrell. The concept was to produce original and affordable art for people who appreciate individuality and creativity. Initially focussing on commissioned portraiture, Helen now produces art based on her own observations of life.. Helen's work draws heavily on the pop art movements of the 20th century.

Helen Tyrrell is Irish and has lived and worked in Belgium for the past 12 years.
